In the Winter of 1948 a meeting was called for local residents interested in forming a cricket club in Leopold. The meeting was attended by Eric Dohnt, Reg Dendle, Mac Mason, J & L Davies, Harry Howard and Keith Filbay in the garage of Keith Filbay.

Then on August 16th 1948 the first meeting was held and the Leopold Cricket Club was formed.

Then in the Season to follow Leopold was dominant and ended up winning the 1948/49 Premiership.
In 1955 the Leopold Cricket Club was invited to be part of the Geelong Cricket Association (GCA) and the Season of 1955-56 saw the LCC join the GCA where they are currently still competing.
